Ambush, Shreveport's premiere party band was formed in
the 1990's. Nearly 20 years later, Ambush is still going strong playing
casinos, clubs, and private events in and around the Ark-La-Tex. Formed during
the oldies revival movement of the '90's, Ambush's
songlist not only
includes hits from the 50's and 60's but also hits from the 70's, 80's
and 90's as well. Whether it's rock, country, blues, soul or oldies, Ambush is
sure to satisfy.
On drums, Kyle Coleman supplies the backbeat and makes up half of the
rhythm section. Originally from Jena, Louisiana, Kyle has called the Ark-La-Tex
home for more than 25 years. A professional musician for more than 25 years,
Kyle has played with many groups including The Sales Department and Jeaux
Phrydae.
Steve Kirkland brings a unique blend of talent to Ambush. Principally a
guitarist, Steve is equally adept at keyboards, bass, and harmonica. A staple
in the Shreveport/ Bossier area for most of 35 years, this guitar-slinger has
played in several groups including The Hard Tops, Anxious, and Last Chance.
Paul Metsger is truly a guitarist's guitarist. His unique style of overhand
playing has dazzled audiences all over the country. Having been playing for over 25 years, Paul is no stranger to the local and regional music
scene. He was a founder and long-time member of the "Boomers" who enjoyed great success in this part of the country.
For the better part of 20 years, Shreveport native Steve Patterson has
been a regular in the music scene. This bassist has provided the solid half of
the rhythm section for bands including the Convertibles.
Louis Williams serves as keyboard player and guitarist for Ambush. Having played
in Troupe, the Convertibles, Walker Street, and with Percy Sledge, this seasoned pro of 30
years rounds out the "A" list.
